Madison & Cameron – August 1, 2020 – Montage Palmetto Bluff
Their story begins in 3rd grade when they first met. Both sets of parents have said it was “love at first sight” with a famous class picture where Cameron looks at Madison with adoring eyes at age 8.
They grew up in a small town attending the same church and spending summer vacations together. Throughout the years of pulling pigtails and child’s play, the two became close friends eventually growing into true love that resulted in marrying best friends.
The weekend started with a lively rehearsal dinner and cocktails for 24 guests and kids. Madison’s family rarely has a party without a photo booth and incorporated that element into their rehearsal dinner even if just for the small guest list.
Their August wedding was both beautiful and intimate for 72 guests, most of whom were family and a handful of very close friends and lots of children too. The love and importance of family was incredibly apparent throughout the weekend of events.
Madison, her mom and two sisters primped each other and “twirled” each other’s hair, skipping the professional hair and makeup services that usually accompany a Christina Baxter Wedding.
As a designer and planner, one of my favorite parts of the day is observing the bridal party getting ready. This group of gals and all of the bridesmaids were an exceptional bunch. Between the giggles and laughter, praying together, and the shared, honest love, it was a gift to observe.
Next, the first look with Madison’s father. When he saw his little girl as a bride for the first time, there were tears of joy and undeniable pride.
The ceremony took place at Somerset Chapel. The bride’s Grandfather gave a sermon, along with a family friend and pastor who officiated the ceremony. Communion was given to the Bride and Groom, by the same pastor who married the bride’s parents 30 years prior.
Immediately following the ceremony, Cameron was swarmed by the bride’s family and it was as though he immediately became the big brother to Madison’s two younger sisters. Two families truly became what they were meant to be.
Cocktails were served on the Piazza of The May River house. The newlywed couple enjoyed a stroll as the sun set behind the ancient Live Oaks and Spanish moss.
The guests were then invited to a candlelit seated dinner with elegant ambient light and lush florals.
Following dinner, guests moved to a custom designed “jazz lounge”with a fabulous band, cocktails and late night snacks of Sliders, French Fries and Coke Floats.
Family, friends and the bridal party laughed and danced into the wee hours of the morning.
