Blue and White Hydrangea, and Ocean Breezes Abound –
As the spring and summer wedding season begins to wind down, I have the opportunity to reflect back on the several weddings we have planned and designed, and recall the many special moments, so beautifully captured by the photographers.
This pretty spring wedding took place under the blue skies and gentle breezes at Kiawah Island’s famous Ocean Course. The day could not have been more perfect, and there were magical moments when the only two clouds in the sky seemed to reach down and touch the couple, while they sat on a joggling board, moments after the wedding ceremony.
The wedding colors were shades of pale blue and cream, and the abundance of hydrangea truly added to the Island feel. Being a New Englander myself, I could have just as easily been on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
Following the ceremony, guest gathered on the great lawn of the Ocean Course club house, and enjoyed champagne cocktails, light hors d’oeuvres and a magnificent sunset.
The Island feel was carried over into the design of the escort cards, guest book, centerpieces and menus, soft amber uplighting mirrored the sunset, and an abundance of candles enhanced the magical glow.
